Hi & welcome!
I am Nicola, the founder of Nicola Louise Soft Tissue Therapy
A quick overview of the therapies NLSTT provides:
SCAR THERAPY | a non invasive physical therapy, for treating scar tissue, fibrosis and adhesions.
SOFT TISSUE THERAPY & SPORTS MASSAGE | with the purpose of reducing discomfort, helping to alleviate tight and/or overworked muscles, and aiming to restore functionality in joints and muscles for ease of movement, using a combination of techniques, such as massage, stretches, myofascial release, and manipulative methods.
MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE | a gentle treatment to assist in the movement of lymph, to aid in the decongestion of the lymphatic and circulatory systems, for surgery recovery, lymphoedema, lipoedema or general health and wellbeing.
ONCOLOGY MASSAGE | specifically for those who currently have, or have experienced cancer. This type of massage can reduce the symptoms associated with treatment of this disease. For those in remission, being oncology trained means I am able to recognise what you have been through, and have the knowledge to be able to offer you therapy that is safe.
MYOFASCIAL CUPPING THERAPY (DRY CUPPING) | the use of decompressed cups on musculoskeletal pain and discomfort, which creates a vacuum for manipulating the underlying tissues like skin, fascia, muscle. The cups can be used statically, or actively. Please note, this therapy may leave cupping marks post treatment.
ABOUT ME

I am registered on MLDUK, as a DLT therapist, meaning I am certified to help with lymphoedema and lipoedema
Post Operative manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) therapist, with extensive experience in cosmetic surgery recovery
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Scar Practitioner
Oncology (cancer) massage therapist
Kinesiology (K) Taping

I am also, a final year Osteopathy student, undertaking a 4 year degree.
I hold professional insurances and am a member of professional associations. My home treatment room is insured and licenced under my local Council. I am GDPR compliant, and registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
My passion for soft tissue therapy comes from receiving my own treatment on a regular basis. I spent 11 years kickboxing, some of those years as an instructor, and taking part in some tournaments. I now train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu where I hold a brown belt.
Believe me, this 20+ years of martial arts has put my body through a lot. Having my own treatment helps me to achieve body balance and to manage the pain and dysfunction that my lifestyle can bring. In addition, following a (non fault) motorbike accident in 2015, I had a lot of treatment and rehab, which was the catalyst to my change of career in to providing massage therapy, and now in to my Osteopathy journey.
