MASSAGE DOES NOT SPREAD CANCER |

Statistics show that cancer can affect 1 in 2 of us. Anyone who has previously tried to have any massage, beauty treatment, spa day, physiotherapy or any other hands on treatment will know how hard it is and would most likely have been declined. Cancer has been labelled a big ‘no no’ for so long, because it is believed that massage spreads cancer.

I can assure you that massage does not spread cancer.

Cancer is life changing. A diagnosis can bring anxiety and fear, and the treatment for this disease will affect people on a physical and an emotional level.

Oncology massage is designed to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience, but also to help cancer sufferers through their journey. It also plays an important role in palliative care and symptom relief.

Many people find friends and family shy away from physical touch when you have cancer, primarily for fear of hurting you. The loss of human contact can have a detrimental effect and cannot be under estimated. Oncology massage is all about helping someone feel better and more comfortable whilst on their journey. It is a gentle and nurturing treatment, providing that human contact, and allowing the client to escape for a short while from their diagnosis.

This type of massage therapy isn’t well known, and there are so few people actually qualified in this area. I am a qualified and insured oncology massage therapist.

Your health and stage of treatment will determine the duration of treatment. This will be discussed at the beginning of our session. Please contact me, or use the booking system and the Oncology Massage option.
